Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.
The win also means he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
